April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM), an annual campaign to raise public awareness about sexual assault and educate communities and individuals on how to prevent sexual violence. In support, we interviewed Shannan Webster the volunteer & outreach coordinator at The Victim Service Center of Central Florida. They offer a variety of services for those affected by sexual assault and violence including support and therapy. These are services we all hope we’ll never need but are truly invaluable in the event we do. We learned what Denim Day (April 28) is, how it started and why it is so important to get involved.
